Coworking in Canggu: Where to Work, What It Costs, and How to Choose
Canggu has the densest mix of cafés, coworking spaces and gyms in Bali, which is exactly why so many remote workers land here first. You can open a laptop almost anywhere. The harder part is finding a place with Wi-Fi that holds up on a video call, a backup when the power drops, and people you actually want to sit next to.
This guide covers the coworking spaces in Canggu that are open right now, what they cost, and how to pick one without wasting your first week. If you are still deciding where to stay, start with our Canggu area guide for rents, getting around and the nearest hospitals.
Before you start: a lot of Canggu lists are out of date
Canggu changes fast, and many “best coworking” lists online still recommend places that have closed. Two big ones:
- Dojo Bali, the original Canggu coworking space near Echo Beach, closed in December 2022.
- Outpost Canggu Coworking closed its Canggu workspace in April 2024. Outpost still runs coworking in Ubud.
So before you commit to a monthly pass, check a space’s own website or Instagram for recent posts. A quick walk-in visit tells you more than any review.

Laptop-friendly cafés in Canggu
Most cafés in Canggu double as workspaces, and on a light day that is all you need. A few with a coworking setup or a reputation for working crowds:
- Awan Connection (café and coworking space), Jl. Kayu Manis, just behind Pepito supermarket in Batu Bolong. Coworking is free with any café purchase, and it is closed on Sundays. Hours vary by day, so check their Instagram before you go. It also hosts community events on BaliSquad, like its Deep Talks evenings, so it is an easy way to meet people while you work.
- NOAH cafe, Jl. Pantai Pererenan No.60, Pererenan. Open daily 7 am to 10 pm, with a quiet air-conditioned room for laptop work downstairs and a more social open-air floor upstairs. It fills up fast, so arrive early.
Café etiquette that keeps everyone happy: order something every couple of hours, take long calls outside, and avoid weekend brunch peaks if you need a table for hours.
How much does coworking in Canggu cost?
Our Canggu guide puts a monthly coworking pass at roughly IDR 2.5M to 4.5M, and the spaces above fit that range:
| Option | Typical price |
|---|---|
| Day pass at a full-service space | around Rp 300K (BWork) |
| Dedicated desk at a smaller local space | Rp 2.5M to 2.9M per month (PUCO) |
| Unlimited monthly at a large space | around Rp 3.85M (BWork, includes Uluwatu) |
| Off-peak monthly (afternoon to morning) | around Rp 2M (BWork) |
Prices change, and many spaces run promos, Indonesian ID rates or free trial days. Always check the space’s own site before you pay.
How to choose a coworking space in Canggu
1. Pick by neighbourhood, not by Instagram. Canggu traffic peaks around sunset and on the shortcut roads. A space ten minutes from your villa beats a “better” one that takes forty minutes each way. Berawa and Batu Bolong are the busiest pockets; Pererenan is calmer.
2. Test it on a call day. Use a day pass on a day with real meetings. Check the upload speed, whether there are phone booths or focus rooms, and how loud the main floor gets.
3. Ask about backup power and internet. Power cuts happen in Bali. Ask what happens to Wi-Fi when the power drops.
4. Match the hours to your time zone. If you work US or European hours, you need 24/7 access. BWork, Tropical Nomad and PUCO (weekdays) all offer late-night or round-the-clock access.
5. Look at the community, not just the desk. Events are what turn a desk into a social life. Check what is on at each space and around Canggu on our Canggu events page.
Meeting people through coworking in Canggu
Coworking meetups are one of the softest ways into Bali’s social scene when you work remotely. You already have something in common, and nobody minds if you leave early to finish a deadline.
A simple rhythm that works: pick one coworking space as your base, go to one community event a week, and say yes to the after-work plan at least once. We wrote more about this in How to Find Events in Bali (Without Living in WhatsApp Groups).
If Canggu starts to feel too busy, the Bukit is a quieter alternative with a growing coworking scene. See Coworking in Uluwatu & the Bukit.
