DEEP TALKS
We discuss philosophical ideas that bring practical and creative value.
This week:
CAN A BOOK KILL?
Books do not exist in a vacuum. Once published, they have the power to challenge social norms, influence our views of the world and, sometimes, become associated with acts their authors could never have predicted. But where does a writer’s responsibility end and a reader’s begin?
Our next gathering puts us in the uncomfortable position of a publisher. We’ll use three controversial or culturally significant novels to explore censorship, artistic freedom, moral responsibility and unintended consequences
Our 3 books:
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
📖 You don’t need to have read the books. We will provide all that you need to take part on our conversation BUT feel free to bring your copy if you own one.
We get together to explore ideas that matter, with humour, passion, respect, and curiosity.
Join the Deep Tribe
We also hang out for Deep Talks and Deep Love.
Every Tuesday at Awan, 18:30 ‘til late.
Join our WhatsApp group for updates.
📍Awan Connection & Co-working Space

🍵 We support locally-owned businesses: affordable, nourishing food and drinks available
