This week’s theme: People-Pleasing
Who is this for?
You've traditionally been achievement driven. You've had success in various areas of your life - wealth, health, relationships, etc. But you're at the stage where you see that external achievement alone doesn't necessarily lead to internal fulfillment, wholeness and security (aka - "internal flourishing").
You're aware that more information and experience doesn't necessarily lead to change in how you perceive yourself and how you show up in the world. For instance:
You can know "rejection" isn't personal and yet still feel insecure when it happens.
You can know your ideas have value and yet still doubt yourself when it comes time to share them.
You can know you're an adult, capable of making your own decisions and yet still feel like a child.
You'd like to be able to show up through the trials and tribulations of life capable of standing firm in your own truth, trusting yourself deeply and feeling like a grown ass adult.
You're not looking for quick fixes or magic pills. Nor are you trying to brute force your way to internal flourishing. You know success in any endeavor requires correct application (which is what these workshops are for), patience and a sprinkle of good luck.
You're sincere about your desire for growth and development. You're willing to show up, to be vulnerable and to support others in their own development.
What we cover?
We cover a slightly different theme each week (ie; insecurity, validation, people pleasing, setting boundaries, etc). Themes are determined based on what previous attendees are curious about (so make sure you join so you can tell me what you'd like to see next!).
Firstly, there will be a short teaching section. This is where a couple key principles will be articulated. The intention of the teaching is that it is less like having words read to you in a lecture and more like a "Socratic Dialogue" from Athenian times (google the term if you've never heard it before).
Secondly, there will be a longer practical section. What happens here is that you'll be split into pairs or threes and given the chance to unpack your own challenges with the support of myself and your peers. This is where you see the magic of curiosity and compassion, in live time.
Finally, we'll wrap up. I'll share some suggestions for how you can implement what you've learnt ov er the next week and you can ask any un-answered questions.
Connect with me on instagram directly if you have any questions: https://www.instagram.com/actualisedwithnathan/ (this account is just being used for communication at the moment - which explains the lack of posts so far :))
And if you’re still on the fence about joining - check out some testimonials from previous participants:
Testimonials:
“Honestly my experience in joining the workshops was mesmerizing. With every single small topic I would feel like I'm learning something completely new. The workshops themselves always make you think and they always open you up to new ideas and new ways of thinking that you could have never been exposed to without them.” - Catalin.
“This was my second workshop, and once again, it was such a positive experience—very engaging and easy to connect with everyone. It gave me the time and space to sit down, address relatable issues we often overlook in our busy lives, and better understand challenges involving relationships, work, and personal life.” - Pedro
“The workshop experience was comfortable and the way it was presented kept attendees inquisitive around the session's topic. Nathan kept the setting very comfortable, making it easy for myself to not only understand the foundational concepts, but also to ask questions freely - even amongst a crowd of "strangers”. Essentially allowing us to settle into the practical section of the workshop with a lot more ease. Since he made it easy to grasp the foundational concepts, it helps me keep in mind the concepts of what was taught into "daily life" or “daily introspection" post-workshop.” - Amanda
“I found this workshop to be a very interesting and thought provoking experience for me. It allowed me to share and confront the problems I have been facing head on in a calm and peaceful manner. It gave me a more positive perspective on issues that I initially held as fully negative. To have more self compassion when addressing my own issues with self sabotage. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to find clarity on their problems and have a space to share what they are facing in life and receive advice or direction on how to solve these problems.” - Menno
About Me
Inevitably, when I try to explain what I do, I get a million and one questions in return. Sometimes I'm asked whether I'm a "life coach." No, I'm not, at least not in the way I think of a life coach. Nor am I really a "mindset coach," although that title is closer to the mark.
I'm more like an ecologist for someone's internal world (or, as I like to think of it, their internal ecosystem).
Just as ecosystems evolve, emerge, collide and pass away, so do our internal worlds. If there's a problem in an ecosystem, say certain plants are dying for an unknown reason, no amount of "positive affirmations" or "feel-good thinking" will fundamentally change it. An ecologist is needed to come in, deeply understand the problem and correct it at its root.
So when someone comes to me with a problem (let's say "people-pleasing"), I get really curious about it. In what specific situations does it show up for them? When did it first become a problem? What keeps it being a problem? From this curious enquiry, the problem tends to unravel.
The goal of this work isn't just to give someone tips on what to do, OR new mindsets to apply to their "people-pleasing." It's to help them become the type of person for whom the problem of "people-pleasing" doesn't even arise anymore.
The ripple effects of this work cascade into all areas of my clients' lives, allowing them to stand firmly in their truth and live a deeply fulfilling life.
