This immersive beginner-friendly series is designed for foreigners living in or visiting Indonesia who want to feel more confident connecting with locals, navigating daily situations, and understanding Indonesian social culture beyond translation apps.

We’ll explore the Bahasa Indonesians actually use in everyday life, from native pronunciation, greetings, and survival phrases to ordering food, asking questions, expressing yourself, making friends, understanding social culture, and navigating casual conversations naturally and confidently through immersive speaking practice and real-life

This is not a grammar-heavy classroom. The focus is immersion, confidence, speaking practice, pronunciation, and real social interaction through guided exercises, roleplay, and pair conversations.

CLASS 2 — Respect and Desire 

Theme: “How to sound polite while requesting for what you want”

Duration: 90 Minutes
Level: Complete Beginner
Class Size: Max 10–15 People

This class introduces students to Indonesian politeness, social hierarchy, and everyday transactional language. Students will learn how to respectfully address people, express desires, ask for prices, and confidently buy things in cafés, markets, and shops while understanding the warmth and indirect communication style common in Indonesia.

About Your Teacher

Sasha Tigresa is a multilingual creative Indonesia-native educator and language enthusiast with a deep passion for culture, communication, and human connection.

Having grown up in a multicultural environment and lived in 6 different countries, Sasha speaks six languages fluently: Bahasa Indonesia, Malay, Mandarin Chinese, English, German, and Spanish, alongside exposure to dialects and languages including Javanese, Balinese, and even Arabic. She also holds a Bachelor degree in Chinese Literature.

Sasha spent over five years teaching English and visual arts in Beijing, where she developed a practical and immersive teaching style focused on confidence, interaction, and real-life communication rather than rigid memorization.

Today, alongside her work as a freelance web consultant, Sasha continues her own language-learning journey and is currently learning Portuguese and Swahili herself. In her free time, she also teaches Bahasa Indonesia through donation-based community classes that support local orphanages in Bali.

Her classes are designed to feel less like traditional school and more like an immersive social experience where language becomes something students actively use and experience in everyday life.
