About Azhari Aiyub:
Azhari Aiyub (born 1981) is an author and litterateur hailing from Aceh. He founded Sekolah Menulis Dokarim, an alternative creative writing school in Aceh. His most famous epic, Kura-Kura Berjanggut (2018), is highly sought after by collectors and readers alike. His distinctive writings have drawn commentary from intellectual figures such as Hélène Cixous, who coined the term écriture féminine. The story is taken from Perempuan Pala (2004). Both Kura-Kura Berjanggut and Perempuan Pala won the prestigious Kusala Sastra Khatulistiwa in their respective year.
